It's a Mera! In Florida! In the 80s! Where's the blow? Oh wait, that's right... It's a Mera, not a 308. Where are the ludes?

Silly McMike, that's obviously an F4o. Would you doubt that woman's expertise?

I lived through the 80's, you I think did too. Can you believe this was what was considered hot as hell back then? Gawd

That is a kit, but it is not a Mera. Meras are much closer to actual 308 styling than that... and that blue car above is a bit more F40-Race spec replica kit.

This is a Mera, and they were sold turn-key through some select Pontiac Dealers, along side the stock Fiero.

80s approaching critical mass, Captain.

Yeah, it was a Pontiac dealer option, not a kit car as is commonly assumed. I almost bought one a few months ago for a couple of grand. It was in surprisingly good shape.

Something about those 80s high-rise swimsuits just does it for me.

I don't think I am the only one, but I am probably not in the majority...

I like the Formula and baseline front bumper fascias like the third image, better than I like the longer, skirted, GT nose.

I like the GT side skirts OK, and I do like the GT diffuser bumper with the deep exhaust cutouts... but the front fascia is odd to me.... with the deeply hooded turn signals just in holes in the front end, and a plain, somewhat pinched central intake, and the upward angle on the air dam so that it doesn't scrape because it is so long... which looks odd enough that some people actually do something counter-intuitive, and actually *add* a double-chin, like the second image, and further emphasize the extended length of the front overhang.

The aftermarket IRM fastback conversion on the second image, and the bigger cast-mesh wheels do look interesting.

Here is another IRM fastback conversion... with the best option available for the Fiero... T-tops.

But rather than the GT schnozz, I would love a so-called Formula Fastback.... An aft-quarter body conversion to the fastback style bodywork, but otherwise having the formula nose, and the clean simple sides.

It would be worth it among Fieroista.

The open market isn't huge for them... but the cult followers are big on them... and just about anyone who is a fan of affordable mid-engined cars, like me.
